While preparing for Marvel Super Hero Day, JMU found a wonderful & unexpected connection. Mike Pasciullo spent 25 years with Marvel, turning his dream into a reality. Although he passed away in 2022, he still watches over his niece & nephew, two proud JMU students, with pride.

Chris Pratt was rejected for multiple Marvel roles before almost turning down the one that changed his career. Before landing the role of Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt auditioned for several Marvel Studios characters, and was rejected every time. After so many disappointments, he decided he was done auditioning for superhero movies. When the opportunity for Guardians of the Galaxy came, he initially said no, convinced they would reject him again. But after seeing himself in Zero Dark Thirty, he realized he could convincingly play both a tough action hero and a funny character. He finally agreed to audition, but with a different mindset.
