In the wake of the biggest card sale of all-time, I thought I would reshare my first ever video from June, 2019. The last 6+ years since I posted this have seen highs and lows. I made a lot of money as card prices soared in 2020 and 2021, then lost a lot as cards fell down in 2022 and 2023. But my belief in cards as a legitimate alternative asset investment never wavered, and I kept buying. In fact, I bought even more cards as the market declined hard in 2022 and 2023, thinking it would rise again. And now, here we are - 2025 is the best year in sports card market history. Record high prices are being set every week, the overall market is way up, and a record number of cards are being bought and sold every month. And I’m STILL buying (while also selling some to take some profits too). Just like 2019, I remain bullish on the future of sports card investing, and I believe the best days are still ahead. 📈

There are indications that Innbucks is in the process of testing a Visa Card, with certain individuals having early access. While this is a natural and positive progression, we believe its arrival won't be earth-shattering, despite claims from some early cardholders. Currently, there are several cards available for making international payments, including the Omari and Ecocash virtual and physical cards. Most people only have a couple of subscriptions per month, often totaling less than US$50. Therefore, any cost savings from the Innbucks card are unlikely to be significant compared to what's already on the market. The main advantage of the Innbucks card will be that users won't need to transfer funds to another wallet, providing an additional backup card to use. We would be glad to be proven wrong, but we expect this to be just another card with features similar to existing options. After opening the American Express Gold Delta Skymiles card when I was 22 years old, I figured out quickly that these credit companies invented a game where they do not lose. Getting 2% cash back while paying double digit interest meant I was not winning. They were. We all open all these cards promising ourself, “I’ll never carry a balance. I’ll pay it off in full every month, get my rewards, and stick it to the credit card man! No brainer.” Oh, how idealistic that promise was, considering that 49% of people are unable to pay off their credit card bills every month. A not-so-fun fact is that credit card companies make most of their money from people who are struggling to pay their bills each month. They turn around and offer a tiny portion of that struggle money back to you so you can enjoy your free flight and some cashback, feeling like you beat the system.
