While several Muslim majority countries have chosen to restrict or regulate amplified calls to prayer, a mosque in Regina, Saskatchewan yesterday conducted its first live outdoor Adhan over loudspeakers. As this video makes clear, the broadcast carries far and wide. There's been unprecedented growth in Saskatchewan's Muslim population.

For the first time in over a decade, the Adhan can now be made via loudspeakers in Salimullah Muslim Hall Mosque in #Dhaka University. Prior to Hasina’s downfall, the Adhan was banned via loudspeakers due to harassment and lobbying by the Chhatra League, the student wing of the former ruling Awami League. They regarded the Adhan as a “nuisance” and used to harass students for praying, having a beard or wearing the Niqab. #Bangladesh

Regina police respond to backlash over weekly call-to-prayer trial Last week, a new mosque in downtown Regina announced that it had tested its outdoor, weatherproof, four-direction call-to-prayer system and that it has a permit from the Regina Police Service to begin a trial period of weekly calls. This was unexpected news for many Regina residents, who have since expressed concerns over the potential regular disruption of peace and the lack of consultation with the community. Regina Police have since issued press releases claiming that the amplification falls within bylaw requirements and discouraging threats targeted at the mosque. Man stabs people in NYC while shouting Allahu Akbar. Motive unknown. What could have possibly caused this?!?!? More than half (about 55%) of NYC’s confirmed hate crimes in 2026 so far have targeted Jews despite being 10% of the population. I don't want to live amongst people who hate the Jews. I don't want to live in a country where you can't be openly Jewish. That's the reality of Muslim majority countries. There is nothing kind about tolerating a culture that does not tolerate in return.

🚨 Ezra Levant 🍁🚛 went to that Regina mosque that blasts the Muslim call to prayer It’s nuts. But it’s absolutely the kind of story that Rebel News was built to cover. A mosque in Regina wants to blast the Muslim call to prayer on loudspeakers pointed in all directions — loud enough to be heard a kilometre away. They did it last week for the first time and they want to do it every week. And Regina police have warned the public that if you aren’t careful with your criticism, you just might be prosecuted under Mark Carney’s new hate speech laws. It’s crazy. But the craziest part is who’s supporting this. It’s not just the mosque. It’s a left-wing church across the street. And it’s mainstream media journalists — who heckled me when I tried to ask legitimate questions of the imam. Canada was founded as a Christian country. It used to be standard practice for children to start the school day with the Lord’s Prayer. But in the 1990s a judge ordered Saskatchewan schools to stop, after activists complained it violated their freedom of religion. So Christianity was driven out of the public square. And now a Muslim imam has come to fill the void — with loudspeakers that can be heard across the downtown. What’s so crazy about the replacement of Christianity with Islam, is that one of the loudest boosters of it in Regina is a priest from the Anglican church right across the street from the mosque. I spoke with him, and he seems thrilled that the mosque will broadcast a message in Arabic, saying that Allah is the greatest and that there are no other gods but him. The only people more excited about all this were the journalists — including the Global News reporter who was wearing a hijab. It’s nuts. A mosque in Regina wants to blast the Muslim call to prayer on loudspeakers pointed in all directions — loud enough to be heard a kilometre away. They did it last week for the first time and they want to do it every week. And Regina police have warned the public that if you aren’t careful with your criticism, you just might be prosecuted under Mark Carney’s new hate speech laws. It’s crazy. But the craziest part is who’s supporting this. It’s not just the mosque. It’s a left-wing church across the street. And it’s mainstream media journalists — who heckled me when I tried to ask legitimate questions of the imam. Canada was founded as a Christian country. It used to be standard practice for children to start the school day with the Lord’s Prayer. But in the 1990s a judge ordered Saskatchewan schools to stop, after activists complained it violated their freedom of religion. So Christianity was driven out of the public square. And now a Muslim imam has come to fill the void — with loudspeakers that can be heard across the downtown. What’s so crazy about the replacement of Christianity with Islam, is that one of the loudest boosters of it in Regina is a priest from the Anglican church right across the street from the mosque. I spoke with him, and he seems thrilled that the mosque will broadcast a message in Arabic, saying that Allah is the greatest and that there are no other gods but him. The only people more excited about all this were the journalists — including the Global News reporter who was wearing a hijab. It’s nuts.
