I am honoured to be sworn in as the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development in Mark Carney’s Government. We know that negativity won’t pay the rent or the mortgage. Negativity won’t bring down the price of groceries. Negativity won’t win a trade war. We’re united and strong and we will immediately get to work, to build the Canada and the Canadian economy of tomorrow.

We need to radically rewire our economy and getting taxes down is central to that mission. BUT we will only be able to achieve that if we have fiscal responsibility at the heart of everything we do. NEVER AGAIN will we sacrifice that. Labour are badly mismanaging our economy. Reform offer only fantasy economics. It falls to the Conservative Party to stand up for fiscal discipline and economic stability. The road ahead is tough but we are up for the challenge. We believe in our country and we will deliver the right choices based on serious, responsible leadership.
