🇬🇧 Celebrating independence from the country you’re colonising. Last night Pakistanis filled the streets of London, Birmingham and Manchester waving Pakistani flags and marking “freedom from Britain.” They’re celebrating breaking free from the nation they then moved to in their millions. The same nation whose systems, infrastructure and institutions still underpin modern Pakistan. Now they turn British cities into temporary outposts of Pakistan every Independence Day while natives are lectured about diversity. You leave the former colony, settle the former coloniser en masse, keep your own flags and priorities ,and call it independence. That’s not freedom. That’s reverse colonisation with fireworks and flags. A country that tolerates this on its own streets while losing control of its borders is not confident. It’s finished.
