Nonsense. Many Russian farmers are under increasing financial pressure. Grain prices and margins are low, while machinery, labour, financing, transport and fuel have become more expensive. Independent grain farmers are particularly squeezed, while large agricultural holdings are generally better able to cope. As of today Putin’s war is increasingly hitting Russian farmers directly. Refinery attacks, fuel shortages and strikes on Black Sea/Azov infrastructure are raising costs and disrupting grain exports.
