This is life in Dubai. This is the UAE. 🇦🇪 We are so protected here that everyone is having fun ice skating at the Dubai Ice Rink right now. Life is normal, and no one is afraid. Why would we be afraid? We’re protected by the best air defenses in the region. I moved here a year and a half ago, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Grateful every single day to call it home.

People mocking Dubai for being bombed and at the same time claiming to be safe miss the plot entirely. We literally sustained hundreds of missiles with 0 casualties (in Dubai) in less than 24h. How many people got stabbed and raped in your countries in that timeframe? Absolutely insane to me that people think this is the time to talk shit about the UAE. I just took this video from our 1st floor and still feel safer here than in Europe. Since I came here I realized that Dubai was built by sheer willpower, this doesn’t change it at all.

I went to China this year and took pictures of the ground reality but the Chinese police made me delete all of them, the slums, the dirty beaches, and the messy, rundown college hostels and universities. China is not what it looks like on Instagram. It’s not living in 2050, it’s still stuck in 2000. They’re just really good at hiding the truth from the world media.
