The genocidal war was in the Donbass. It began with US 2014 coup overthrow of Ukraine's democratically elected president, followed by the Maidan Massacre and 9 years of Kiev, its military robbing, bombing, killing (over 14K)... in the Donbass with US supplied weapons.

It all started with the US sponsored coup in 2014. It could have ended with the Istanbul peace treaty, but the US loves, and profits from, war too much.
