Reservation in medical education is a ticking time bomb that will destroy the foundations of healthcare in this country. When meritorious students are unable to secure admission in the medical field while undeserving candidates become doctors, India's healthcare system is bound to suffer. A system that grants medical seats to students with lower scores while high-achieving candidates struggle, even with exceptional percentiles, is destined to fail. Medicine is a profession where competency should be the sole criterion. It is a matter of life and death. If this continues, we are heading towards a medical system where degrees are devalued, trust in doctors erodes, and the public ultimately suffers. Reservation in medical education is not social justice; it is social suicide.

We are all in favour of the Women’s Reservation Bill. However, the way in which it has been brought is questionable, and we have serious reservations about it. It is politically motivated. The Modi government is acting in this manner to target and suppress opposition parties. We have consistently supported the Women’s Reservation Bill and have insisted that it should be implemented on the earlier amendment passed. On delimitation, the government seems to be playing certain tricks. Therefore, all opposition parties are going to take a united stand and fight in Parliament. If there is a conflict between the Left’s agenda and your faith, they want you to bend the knee. We will not. That is why we must restore full religious liberty in this country — and now is the time to do it. If we don’t, we will lose this battle for all time. As your President, I will not let that happen.
