You can depend on clocks, calendars, and schedules. But Kairos is deep time, and you need to pay attention to Kairos. If you're interested in the stories of nature, maybe the journey of a rock, you can't just measure it with that tiny element of time. So the discourse around this Dave Ramsey clip is so mixed up that I’ve just decided to upload the whole thing. In the full context of the call, the caller makes it perfectly obvious that: 1. She has been with this man, whom she is now living with, for six years. 2. She is a nurse and can make her own money. 3. She has been out of school for two years, and in that time she has paid off $70,000 of the debt. In the course of the call, Dave never suggests that this man should have to pay for that debt. Indeed, he actively suggests that she leave him, which guarantees he will not pay for the debt. Dave also all but says that, because of her career choice, the caller will be able to pay for the debt on her own, even if she has to take extra hours. All Dave is saying—and this should have been obvious from the original clip—is that the two are not aligned on money and debt at all. It is also clear that Dave thinks the man is stringing her along, which he is. So they simply should not be married at all, because this is a fundamental failure in the relationship. I myself would add that, at this late stage in the relationship, if you do not trust a woman financially, you should simply not be with that woman. And that is perfectly fine. But what you do not do is drag her along for six years when she obviously wants to get married, and then put another two or three years of financial hoops in front of her so that maybe you will propose. It is a waste of everybody’s time.

Universal Ostrich Farms Update with Katie Pasitney (Universal Ostrich Farms) There are 3 days left to go before The Supreme Court of Canada announces whether or not they will hear this case, if they don't a mass ostrich slaughter could begin. On top of that heavy weight hanging above everyone, we woke up to a medical emergency with a tragic outcome. Tom, a long time supporter of the farm suffered what we believe to be a heart attack this morning. Supporters here jumped into action immediately and RCMP responded immediately as well. The RCMP officers here did CPR for almost an hour, they did everything they could, unfortunately they weren't able to save Tom. Liaisons were also very helpful and a victim services team was brought in to help, and they did. This was our main priority today but there is a lot going on and Katie gives us updates on what she's working on and what people can do to help. If you are in the area and want to come, now is the time. If you are a trucker and want to come, now is the time. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to get here and I will help facilitate. We will likely learn the Fate of these 300+ healthy ostriches early Thursday morning. Government overreach is at an all-time high. Right now it's this farm but it could be your farm next. It could be your animals next. Alan Watts on why meditation has no purpose: Alan Watts begins by explaining the first basic reason for meditation. It interrupts our constant internal monologue: "Now, obviously, if I talk all the time, I don't hear what anyone else has to say. And so in exactly the same way, if I think all the time, that is to say, if I talk to myself all the time, I don't have anything to think about except thoughts. And therefore, I'm living entirely in the world of symbols and am never in relationship with reality." But then Watts pivots to a deeper, more counterintuitive point: meditation, properly understood, has no purpose at all. He compares it to music and dancing: "When we make music, we don't do it in order to reach a certain point, such as the end of the composition. If that were the purpose of music, to get to the end of the piece then obviously the fastest players would be the best." The same applies to dance: "When we dance, we are not aiming to arrive at a particular place on the floor, as we would be if we were taking a journey. When we dance, the journey itself is the point. When we play music, the playing itself is the point." This is where Watts delivers his core insight about meditation: "Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment. And therefore, if you meditate for an ulterior motive, that is to say, to improve your mind, to improve your character, to be more efficient in life, you've got your eye on the future and you are not meditating." Watts argues the future is an illusion we chase at our own expense: "Because the future is a concept. It doesn't exist. As the proverb says, 'tomorrow never comes.' There is no such thing as tomorrow. There never will be. Because time is always now." He pushes back against how religion has framed contemplative practice: "Meditation is supposed to be fun. I was so happy and honoured to be joined by the Jennifer Simons President of Suriname at the opening of the school which I have been able to help renovate with the support of the amazing Foundation ‘ give ways’ They say every picture tells a story, and I think you will see in the video the joy and hope this new school facility has brought to the children who will attend it. If Xabi Alonso’s plan of signing Pep Chavarria is to keep Jorrel Hato on the bench, i wouldn’t like it, Hato was a beast at Ajax but stayed as a backup to Marc Cucurella when he arrived at Chelsea, this is his chance and the club should not deny him that, he should be our starting left back, he’s going to be a top player if given enough playing time, this club is prone to underrating stars with potentials and they end up regretting it at the end. Look at Lewis Hall now, he’s valued at €110M but was offloaded by Chelsea like he was nothing, same thing with Renato Veiga who was denied playing time until he ran out of patience and left, he was solid in the champions league and world cup games, I can mention a lot of good players that Chelsea underrated and they went ahead to prove us wrong. Pep Chavarria might be a good player but he’s 28 years old, we can’t lose a 21 years old Jorrel because of him. If Chelsea FC sell Hato, I’d not be happy with the club and Xabi Alonso in particular.
