WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING was released 31 years ago today. Bill Pullman nearly quit the film after what producers called “the worst table read of all time,” but was convinced to stay, and the performance ended up becoming a key part of the film’s charm.

Totally underrated film. One of my top 5 fave rom coms. Great script, fun/sweet performances.

And read somewhere that the accident scene in which the paperboy who slips off his bike was an actual accident, not scripted. The actor broke his wrist, but the take was kept in the movie.

One of my favs. We watch it everyear around the holidays. Takes place right after Thanksgiving and runs through new years and yet was never considered a holiday classic
