They basically use colorblind language as a proxy to signal class, while engaging in the same racial preferences as conservatives. "Participants rated the target as less attractive (more racist) if he disclosed racial preferences. However, racial preference disclosure had no reliable effect on how physically attractive they found the target." This works because open racial preference is coded as "low status" for Whites leftists.
