White pounded yam turned into brown! I’m freaking out rn😭

It’s the yam 🍠, to much of chemical (fertilizer) used in growing the yam. It’s not about the restaurant, it’s actually the yam they bought and used and the sad part is you can’t tell from outside the yam until you peel it or cook it

Thank you I would have said the same I texted the restaurant and they said it’s the hours, they said 5 hours is quiet long not that the yam is not good

That’s kinda stup!d from them then, even a 24 hours pounded yam would never changed color if a good yam was used. Lol My mum sells yam 🍠 I know all these things very well.

I have experienced this & my confusion and shock was great. Yam pounded in mortal by myself & wrapped to keep warm. Picked it a couple of hours later and it was as black as amala. Much more darker than this one. I was told it was the yam. This was like 10 years ago btw.

I’m still in shock This is news to me

Yam actually changes colour sometimes, especially when you’re washing or cutting it. There are some types that look white when you cut into them but gradually turn purple ish, reddish, orangey or even goldish-brown. I’ve noticed this with yam before, so it might just be the type they used. But honestly, I wouldn’t recommend continuing to eat it if you’re unsure 😭 That’s one of the reasons I don’t like yam.

I cooked yam on Saturday ate little and kept the rest in a cooler when I went back to eat it has turn black, I was so scared

Na, that’s bad, very bad

Go and drink palm oil. Drink like 1liter

Ko funny at all😭 Pray for me

Did you read the sticker on the plate it most likely will have something like “eat or finish before 2hrs to avoid getting spoilt” My first experience of this still gets me mad 😭😭 anytime I remember.

There was no sticker there

Mine had a sticker on the plate🥹
