Karp: “And when it’s necessary to scare enemies and on occasion kill them.” Then directly to his investors: “And we hope you’re in favor of that.” No apology. No qualifier. Just a man asking if his shareholders have the stomach for what they actually own. Then he turned to Wall Street. Dismissed analysts who can’t handle “the burden of actually looking at the math” or “the burden of being honest about what an enterprise software company is.” He wasn’t talking to them anymore.
