L: for me the word "partner" is significant. It's not just working together. It has so many details/layers. We have to talk, communication, understand each other, and know how to make the other person feel better. Throughout our journey, I tried to study and learn who she is. I want to thank her for adjusting, being with me and still holding my hand. Like I said around the birthday period, thank you for being the sunshine in my life. She came into my life and taught me many things. She taught me... P Lena, sometimes, reset yourself daily, do not hold on to what make you feel bad or sad. She taught me her perspective on life/philosophy in living life. Thank you so much for being the sunshine in my life. LENAMIU 1ST FAN MEETING #LENAMIUBorn2Shine

At the very end of my fellowship at MD Anderson, I was asked to do a microsurgery procedure on a rat because they wanted to see how fast the fellows were at doing microsurgery. It was hard for me because I’ve always been close to animals. A kind gentleman noticed, and afterwards, he introduced me to Judy. Judy was a research dog in the breast cancer program. She’d undergone surgeries, had lymphedema induced, and carried surgical wounds on her little body. She was supposed to be euthanized, but this man didn’t want that for her. He asked if I’d help. Together, we went to the director of the program and asked them to release Judy to me. It had never been done before. On the last day of my fellowship, I signed the papers, packed up my apartment, drove to the basement of MD Anderson, and brought Judy home. Judy lived with me in Austin until she was 14. She passed in August 2023. She taught me not to look away from the painful, hard things—but to stay present, open, and engaged. She also taught me to always be ready for what the universe places in front of me. She gave me far more than she ever asked from me. When you visit RedBud, know that Judy is still here with me, and with you. Always 🐾

I was going through a dark place and decided to do something positive with it. Pouring all my emotions into music was the only way I could cope. I am dedicating my first release to my mother who passed on this day, at this exact time, 2 years ago. Words, lyrics, melodies cannot come close to describing everything she is to me. She taught me to love like she did, to be kind like she was, to be strong, and used her sense of humour to disturb my sisters. For her. For everyone who has known loss. For everyone who has known love. Thank you to all my friends and family who has stuck by me every step of the way. Thank you to my team who made this possible. SEND ME HER OUT NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS
