The government need to take a bold stance & stop kowtowing to the right wing, racists & bigots. The gangs won’t stop until you stop the need for them & that means offering safe & legal routes to claim asylum & speeding up processing of the claims.

Until the UK realises that refugees policies written to appease Daily Mail readers is going to benefit a limited audience the further we move from the real issue. Safe, legal routes. Also came across this recently as sometimes words are not enough

They're framing it as if smugglers themselves are DRIVING migration. Forget the refugees from famine, war and climate-induced migration. If @UKLabour could put up a 'Trump wall' around Britain, they would absolutely do that. Safe legal routes? No, just the same Tory rhetoric.

Simple question, yes it has to be set up & cost money no doubt less than Rwanda scheme, but why can’t UK Govt trial safe & legal routes/access for refugees (approx 12 mths) to see if it works reducing crossings. If it doesn’t it can be ruled out as does not work so fair enough.
