Black American culture is not being erased. Do yall know what erasure is? It’s total obliteration. Our culture isn’t being obliterated. Co-opted is a better word. However, since we have fought for integration into what is America, the dominant demographic feels that our culture is theirs as well since we are all Americans. In short words, it’s a consequence of being integrated in the fabric of Americanism. And if you really pay attention, they’re gradually doing it to other groups here as well, slowly but surely.
