back in the day when we were allowed to laugh at comedy, before people got offended at everything

Anyone remember the Brittas Empire?

That's Eric Idle singing, no doubt he wrote the words as well to fit the hymn 'Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer'

I loved this show so much. Victor and Mrs Warboys were hilarious.

How did they manage not to laugh and keep a straight face.

This is when comedies were funny

One of the greatest sitcoms ever! Never get tired of this. This is by far one of the funniest scenes. Would love to see some of the outtakes on this and how they kept a straight face ๐

One Foot in the Grave is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, and this is my favourite episode. So skillfully written and performed, with huge comedy moments and lots of pathos too. Itโs absolutely sublime. A perfect 30 minutes.

Did you know they showed the last episode of One Foot in the Grave on the same night that Judith Keppel became the first person to win a million quid on Who wants to be a Millionaire. Fascinating facts ๐ค

I remember that. I also remember some accusations that it was fixed in order to compete with the viewing figures OFITG would get. After knowing what we know now, that wouldn't surprise me in the least. ๐

Nothing underhand would surprise me about TV land but Millionaire wouldn't be that easy to fix considering you've got to get in the chair to start with.

Great episode but there are many. I re-watched all 42 episodes a few months ago.

Yes ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ He was brilliant

ty soon as a see him put the tape in i know ๐๐

even funnier when mrs Worboys casually just got in the car after nipping out. She could have gone for a ramble and they would have still been there.

Whole episode in the car, facing a horses bottom if I recall. ๐ Where's the sucky sweets? ๐

In those days I didn't need tenna pants. Having just watched it again, thanks for reminding me I need to get some more. Better get some disinfectant for this seat now too...

classic episode! Mrs Warboy's entering the car halfway through the episode because she'd been down the pub! The horse trailer! The guy they had an argument with! ๐๐ช๐

In the day, Kwik Fit were running ads with mechanics singing and dancing, so it was all the more funnier with that image in our heads.

Yes respect car mechanics โฆ๐

Mrs Worboys is hilarious. Great comedic timing.

๐๐๐๐ป

A classic episode filmed entirely in the one set location. Three brilliant actors carried it off with aplomb.

I don't belieeve it!

Victor Meldrew, grumpy old man, funny. ๐

Brilliant ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

That episode was a classic. Done so well with it being pretty much 27 minutes, real time the 3 of them in the car. Eric Idle's song long stuck in the memory.๐

Never seen that 1! ๐คฃ thanks for posting.

I always called them suckie sweets after this episode.

I thought it was the funniest thing ๐๐๐

Brilliant.

Having said that, if these mechanics spent the time on his car rather than doing this song, then he wouldnโt bother them as often
