Who Filmed Neil Armstrong's First Step?🤔
34 条评论

The famous black-and-white video footage of Armstrong descending the ladder of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module (Eagle) and taking his historic step on July 20, 1969, was captured by a remote television camera mounted on the side of the Lunar Module itself. Neil Armstrong pulled a lanyard while standing on the LM's "porch" (the small platform at the top of the ladder) to deploy the MESA, which swung open and positioned the camera to point at the ladder and surface. Buzz Aldrin, still inside the Lunar Module, then flipped a switch to turn on/activate the camera. The camera transmitted the live signal back to Earth (via an antenna on the LM), where it was received by ground stations, converted, and broadcast to hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide. The original camera remains on the Moon.

Thank you for the information.

Stanley

Who filmed them leaving and how did that footage get back down if they left the camera?

@MAC_ARMY1 Newly released Image of photographer who took Armstrong's first moon steps!

@MAC_ARMY1 More “Hollywood faked the moon landings” bullshit artists. You morons are already cooking up theories for Artemis II LMAO!

The live television footage of Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon was captured by a Westinghouse television camera mounted on the Apollo 11 Lunar Module "Eagle". The camera was deployed by Armstrong when he pulled a D-ring on the module's exterior. Most still photos of the mission were taken by Armstrong himself, often featuring Buzz Aldrin.

Just fucking stop it. - The Westinghouse slow-scan television camera was mounted on the Modularized Equipment Stowage Assembly (MESA), a fold-out panel on the side of the LM's descent stage. - Armstrong, while still on the "porch" (small platform at the top of the ladder), pulled a lanyard/D-ring to deploy the MESA. This swung the camera out and down into position, automatically pointing it at the ladder and the surface below. - Buzz Aldrin (still inside the LM) then activated the camera via a switch. - The camera transmitted a live black-and-white signal (low resolution by today's standards) directly back to Earth via the LM's antenna. Ground stations received, converted, and broadcast it worldwide—hundreds of millions watched it in real time.

@HistorianUSA1 If it was a union crew, there would have been craft service, mandated breaks and more employees than necessary.

Trust me bro, this real

This conspiracy crap is so stupid and easily disproven. The Indians got proof:

@EricaRN4USA They say an extendable arm from the capsule however it doesn't exist in any photos or exhibits of the capsule

@j0ker937 Stanley Kubrick produced it in the New Mexico desert.

all these fake and conspiracy theories were explained in the documentary Capricorn One😀

@FFT1776 Nonsense. A tv camera was deployed from the side of the LM, really low rez b&w. But you could see him coming down the ladder.

Every step is in the Apollo 11 technical reports, mission transcripts, and hardware photos (you can see the MESA and camera in pre-flight LM photos and the actual hardware at the Smithsonian).

@1ADefenderUSA A remote camera attached to the spacecraft. There is nothing phony about this. Billions of people watched it live. I am one of them.

@Itsallnuts2 I thought the dumbest people on earth were the Flat Earthers. I never thought another group would come along and out do them, but here we are.

@MAC_ARMY1 Nobody. It was faked

@Sky_La2

This was Armstrong's first step, caught by a camera on the landing module and transmitted to the tracking radio telescope in Parkes Australia. I watched it on TV. I'm sick and tired of the idiots posting drivel such as that above on X.

It was either Stanley Kubrick or the Easter Bunny. I'm hedging towards the bunny

how come they couid make it back with less fuel at near enough the same distance to the moon as it is back to earth

#First #Steps #Off #The #Ramp For all of you, conspiracy theorist take a look at the original footage. He first shot a picture of himself stepping off of the ramp when they landed then they set up the camera and did other photo shoots again flaws in your conspiracy theory. 🤔👎👎

💯Stanley Kubrick en Hollywood #LaVerdadEsUnaSola

called 'Best Boy' in plays, from the script

@FFT1776 Duh he used a selfie stick

@5am1am_6 Let’s see stretch your imagination as much as you can, come on I know you can do it. It’s not that hard of an answer.

@CreasonJana Hollywood 💣 IYKYK

@JakeCan72 This is absolutely TRUE. IYKYK

@CreasonJana Why are you trying to use your AI generated bullshit

And how? The film would need to be safe from radiation. And the would need to film with big gloves, and a big helmet. They had Hasselblad cameras on the suit! But they could not really see what the took a picture of!! But film??

That's not NASA footage. Armstrong's first step off the ladder and onto the Lunar Surface was filmed by an external camera mounted on the L.E.M.
