The destruction of Libya’s Great Man-Made River was one of NATO’s least-discussed crimes. The Brega pipe facility was bombed, crippling the system. NATO claimed ‘military necessity,’ but the result was mass suffering. There are also accusations that NATO used depleted uranium, as far as I know, there’s no hard proof it was used, but targeting essential, life-sustaining infrastructure with any munitions raises serious ethical & legal questions. If the goal was ‘humanitarian intervention,’ why did it begin with destroying access to water?
