Take a moment to slow down and have a little coffee / tea / wine wherever you are in the world and enjoy Tina's story and some of the people who help her. I think ultimately this is a story of love and hope in a world that needs it 🥰🙏

Sequoia founder Don Valentine: “The art of storytelling is incredibly important” “The art of storytelling is incredibly important. And many—maybe even most of the entrepreneurs who come to talk to us can’t tell the story. Learning to tell a story is incredibly important because that’s how the money works. The money flows as a function of the stories.” The founder of Sequoia founder explains that the story is how you explain what you want to do, how long it’s going to take, who the competition is, and how much money you need. a16z cofounder Ben Horowitz shared a similar view in a 2014 Forbes interview: “Storytelling is the most underrated skill… Companies that don’t have a clearly articulated story don’t have a clear and well thought-out strategy. The company story is the company strategy.” He continues: “The story must explain at a fundamental level why you exist. Why does the world need your company? Why do we need to be doing what we’re doing and why is it important?… You can have a great product, but a compelling story puts the company into motion. If you don’t have a great story it’s hard to get people motivated to join you, to work on the product, and to get people to invest in the product.” This is the job of the founder and CEO: “The CEO must be the keeper of the story. The CEO is responsible for getting the story right, that it’s up to date, compelling, and can move the hearts of men and women. That’s the fundamental responsibility of the chief executive… The mistake people make is thinking the story is just about marketing. No, the story is the strategy. If you make your story better you make the strategy better.” Video source: Stanford Graduate School of Business (2010)

"The secret of good directing is to remember that you are telling a story visually. Your medium is that of sound and sight. The screen should tell this story as much as possible, not the dialogue". Alfred Hitchcock.

Let me tell you a sad story: We are living in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, but 60,000 people in our country die every year because they can't afford to see a doctor. That is why we must move to a Medicare for All, single payer system.

If you believe our enemies should be able to fly to America, have a baby, and claim that child as an American citizen, you’re out of your mind. If you think that’s okay, you’re supporting the destruction of our country. End of story.

Hannah's story is the story many of our neighbors across Providence share: a steep rent increase that makes it harder to stay in our city. As Mayor, I'll cap rent hikes so you can continue to call Providence home.

Too often, the world tries to tell us our story began in bondage, but our history as Black people stretches far beyond 1619. Africa’s rich culture and legacy shaped the world, and we must remind our youth that we come from kings and queens, not just struggle. Even if you never set foot on African soil, your heritage lives in you. As Black America’s Attorney General, I feel a duty to help our young people reclaim pride in where we come from and know our story will never be defined by slavery.

As Women’s History Month comes to an end, I want to recognize all the women who have served our country, from the Revolutionary War to today. Even when our country refused their help, they stepped up and served anyway. They’ll always be a part of America’s story.

Our history is our power. And right now across the country, we are seeing an attempt to hollow out our future by ensuring that anyone who has ever been a part of the American story is wiped away. A threat to any history is a threat to all history.
