I’m shocked and disturbed after reading excerpts from “Peeli Chhatri Wali Ladki” by Uday Prakash. The book openly portrays sexual violence as a justified response to historical caste oppression. A character named Rahul is shown using the full force of his power and anger to "take revenge" on the daughter of an upper-caste Brahmin, reducing her to nothing more than a symbolic target of centuries of suffering. How can anyone — especially someone like Saurabh Dwivedi celebrate this book? Is this what we’re calling social justice now? By romanticizing violence and vengeance? By turning oppressed into oppressors and normalizing sexual assault as a tool of resistance? There is a difference between highlighting injustice and promoting hatred. This isn’t literature — it’s dangerous propaganda disguised as fiction. I’m all for raising awareness about caste inequality.
