Hope that helps.

Everyone saying copperhead--- do you see a copper head? They're called that for a reason.

Brown water snake (Nerodia taxispilota). They’re commonly mistaken for Cottonmouths/Moccasins but this one looks like a dark example. Round eyes, spots, the whole shebang.

Cornsnake

All poisonous snakes in the U.S. have vertical slit pupils, non poison are round, only exception is the poisonous coral snake (round). This is most likely a young red rat snake, one of the good guys.

I never ask I just say "nope" and leave it the fuck alone.

Looks like a Brown Watersnake. If so, non-venomous.

Did an image search for "Brown Water Snake," as someone mentioned.

If I had a shovel, a dead kind.

that's probably some type of watersnake. cottonmouths are stockier, have keeled scales, a wider head and a triangular cross sectoin. this dude is definitely some type of colubrid, which in America means it's almost definitely not venomous.

As a resident Florida Man I can say its a Moccasin/Cotton Mouth. As they mature they grow darker, down to black body. Their mouth and belly will stay white while a king snake, which has similar coloration but different head shape, has a yellow tinged mouth and belly.

It looks like a democrat.

It is clearly a Democrat snake. They prefer swamps and are very poisonous. I recommend you keep your distance. If there are a lot of these where you live, you should move.

Looks like a copperhead I think

Looks like a copper head moccasin Their pupils are NOT round. Their heads are broad, triangular-shaped.

Brown Water snake round pupils therefore not a pit viper.

@grok, what kind of snake is in the video. Actually watch the video, don't just make something up. If you can't detect anything in the video, say so.

Looks like a Corn Snake

Looks too big to be a copperhead, too light to be a cotton mouth. Though like you said could be a juvenile, just all the ones I have seen were nearly black, and can be quite aggressive.

oops! That is a brown water snake! This is a cottonmouth (also called water moccasin).

it's not poisonous Im not sure but believe it's what we call king snakes in ky...they will kill poisonous snakes

That's a Coppermouthrattlemoccisin

It's a Danger Noodle, more commonly known as a Nope Rope. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Banded water snake

Not sure what part of the country you're in but that looks like a western rat snake. Non venemous and keeps rodents away.

Nope rope

Looks like a non venomous water snake

Saw one just like that in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Juvenile cottonmouth moccasin.

Could be a brown water snake.

That’s a North American Republican senate majority leader. It will lure you in with sweet sounds and then bite your jugular.

agree with others that it looks like a water snake. Eyes are perfectly round, head isn't sharply diamond shaped, and cottonmouths often have a fat stubby tail, not long and tapered like that one.

Corn snakes are known for eating rodents like mice, lizards, birds etc., they are not venomous.

Y’all, please stop saying the head shape indicates the snake is venomous. Many non venomous snakes can flatten their heads into a triangular shape. Also, this isn’t a copperhead or a cottonmouth. Probably just a water snake.

That is the kind you don’t mess with.
