One of my favorite drummers ever. I won't say any more.

He is so amazing. Did you ever see that live performance on YouTube of in the air tonight where he’s walking around the entire stage singing and then sits down at the drums right before that part kicks in? Amazing.

I don't know... seen a lot of his work live. He's famous for that sound but it's really engineer Hugh Pagdham who crafted it, on a Peter Gabriel song (Intruder) that Phil played on. Phil had a long jazz & prog career most people have never heard!

True. I love Peter Gabriel as well. He doesn’t get enough credit for his contribution.

They spent 5 years playing together in Genesis - they continued working together after Peter left, still good friends. Never heard anyone say a bad thing about Phil.
