INF Kodey Shojinaga (Kansas Baseball) is an intriguing Sophomore-eligible prospect. Was outstanding as a true Freshman and hit .378/.421/.526 with 11 2B, 6 HR, and 32 RBIs. Also slashed .326/.396/.349 across 11 games on the Cape. Shojinaga was named Co-Freshman of the Year in the Big 12 and earned a Team USA invitation. Medium build at 5'10", 190-lbs with some physicality in the lower-half. Slightly open front side in the box with a normal handset. Holds bat horizontally over his back shoulder with the barrel pointed slightly back. Medium-high leg kick, but the stride itself is small. Little bit of a bat wrap, but he's consistently on time. Average bat speed. Hit over power profile right now, but Shojinaga has an advanced feel for the barrel and plus bat-to-ball skills. Last season, he sported a 93% overall IZ contact rate. Approach is sound, but sometimes chases down/away. Does a nice job of using the whole field and working inside the baseball. Would put a 55 on the pure hit tool. Sound defender at 2B with above average arm strength and makes the plays he needs to make. He has quick hands and some range in either direction. Shojinaga also has experience catching, and got some reps behind the plate this summer for Team USA. Will be interesting to see what it would look like if he focused on catching - actions need refining, but the arm strength is there. Shojinaga will need to really hit, and he's capable of doing so. This July, he profiles as a 5th-8th round pick.

Nearly all infectious disease.. Prevented or cured.. mRNA vaccines already showed us the path.. AI finishes the job.. Most cancer.. Eliminated.. LHP Ben Abeldt (TCU Baseball) is a name to follow closely this spring. Enjoyed a strong Freshman year in which he worked a 3.60 ERA with 71 Ks to 24 BB in 55 IP. Was dominant last spring and pitched his way to a 1.83 ERA with 54 Ks to just 16 BB across 44.1 IP. Two-time Team USA invitee. Standard pitchers' frame at 6-foot-3 and 210-pounds. Added noticeable strength and physicality to it between '23 and '24. Some natural funk and deception in his delivery. Uncomfortable look, especially for LHH. Works exclusively on the 1B side of the rubber which makes it even tougher for LHH. Long, loose arm stroke and attacks from a low-three quarter slot. Big time crossfire. Abeldt relies heavily on his fastball (threw it 79% of the time in '24) that sits in the 91-94 MPH range. Was up to 96 during the spring and up to 98 over the summer. Run and ride through the zone with particular life on his arm side. Like a lot of the low-release lefties who have a little giddy up on their heaters, it's generates the most whiffs when located on the inner-1/2 and/or top-1/2 of the zone. Does a nice job of staying off the barrel with it, 23% whiff and OBA of .208 last spring. Go-to secondary offering is his low-80s slider. Long, sweeping life with some late bite at times. This is what makes me laugh about you idiots on X who jump in my comments on a daily basis…… Bronny James played in the McDonald’s All-American game following his senior year of high school. He was the best SHOOTER on the court by FAR, scoring 15 points and shooting 5/8 from 3-point range. He went to USC. He was projected to be a one-and-done player. He dropped dead from sudden cardiac arrest prior to his first practice. Emergency staff at the scene was able to bring him back with CPR. 99% of basketball players would have never touched a basketball again. Bronny returned to the court after just four months. The normal recovery time for his heart trauma was/is about 2 years. He joined the USC basketball team, and completed the season while suffering physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you have never dropped dead, then you will never understand the mental impact of this experience. I don’t give a crap about his college stats for obvious reasons…..nor did NBA GM’s. —————————————————— Following the season, he declared for the NBA Draft. He attended the NBA Draft combine along with 77 other collegiate players. Out of 78 players at the combine, Bronny was the 2nd best shooter in shooting drills. I am attaching live video of Bronny going through shooting drills at the combine in front of NBA Coaches and GM’s. It takes THOUSANDS of reps to shoot like this under PRESSURE. THOUSANDS. 85% of the guards in the NBA can’t shoot like this on the run. He then recorded a 40.5” vertical, giving him the 4th highest vertical of all of the players at the combine. ———————————————— After witnessing his combine performance, the Warriors, Mavericks, Timberwolves, and Raptors all wanted to draft Bronny. His agent, Rich Paul, told them to pass because the Lakers had already assured him that they would be drafting Bronny with the 55th pick. 2 years removed from his sudden cardiac arrest episode, Bronny is just now fully back to his physical and mental form. He’s back dunking over guys now. He’s back to playing tough defense, and he finally has the heart endurance to play quality minutes. All EARNED!! Nothing given!
