Protein catalyzes nearly every biochemical reaction in our bodies, making it indispensable for life. Every day, our bodies renew and replace around 300 grams of protein – the same weight as a can of Campbell's chicken soup. In today's FoundMyFitness episode, Dr. Luc van Loon joins me to shatter myths about protein intake and muscle protein synthesis. His research showed we can utilize up to 100 grams of protein in one meal, far more than previously thought. We also dive into how to distribute protein optimally across the day, the top sources, and strategies to ward off anabolic resistance—a state where muscles dial down their response to protein and exercise. you don’t need whey protein because it’s unnatural” is genuinely one of the worst takes floating around indian households. let me be clear. 1 scoop gives you roughly 25g of protein in minutes. your dal, sabzi, and roti combined don’t even come close to what your body actually needs to function properly. whey protein isn’t some lab-created poison. it’s literally milk protein separated out. if paneer is natural, whey is natural. the only difference is whey actually works faster and doesn’t come loaded with extra fat. here’s the real problem. most indians, especially vegetarians, are surviving on maybe 30-40g of protein daily when they need double that just to maintain basic health. and the solution is sitting right there but people won’t touch it because someone said it’s western or chemicals. (by the way you can consume protein from other sources, fair enough but i'm accounting for ease and bioavailability as well) whenever i travel constantly. trains, hotels, random cities. i don’t have to stress about breakfast because i can tear open a packet, mix it in 200ml water, and get 25g of protein that keeps me sorted till afternoon. if you can afford it and especially if you’re vegetarian, stop making protein harder than it needs to be. add a scoop to your breakfast or post-workout and watch your energy, recovery, and overall health improve. also this isn’t about bodybuilding. this is about not being protein-starved in a carb-heavy culture. make sense?

🍰2 INGREDIENT VIRAL CHEESCAKE Will it be good? You can get 4-6 servings out of this easily. 4 huge servings would be 288 calories, 21.5g protein. 6 servings would be 193 cals, 14g protein per serving. I gotta say, I was skeptical about this one. I dont think it will work with any cracker, so I would recommend using either the biscoff crackers or graham crackers. But use any cracker you like. And while Ive seen people make it with plain yogurt, I do think you either need to use your favorite flavored protein, or if you are trying to keep it lowcarb, mix in some powdered sweetener and a little vanilla extract to make it work like me. Overall, very good! If you use a thick greek yogurt, you can get a ton of protein, or you can use skyr or siggis like I did, and have an easy snack with 20g protein a serving! 1.Grab your favorite thick yogurt. I used 24oz of skyr yogurt. I mixed in 2 tbsp powder monk fruit, a splash of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup coffee. Make sure you mix this really well, taste and adjust as you wish. If you want to keep this as simple as possible, grab a thick vanilla greek yogurt. Dont use plain, unless you want to be disappointed :) 2.Remove about 4 tablespoons of the yogurt because you’re going to be adding some crackers in and its going to overflow. You want to be able to be able to put the lid on. 3.Add in as many crackers as you want. You can use a lower carb cracker here, or whatever savory cracker you prefer. This is going to work best with biscoff crackers for the best possible “cheesecake” type texture, but you can also try it with a lower sugar cracker, or even graham crackers. 4.Put the lid on, and pop it in the fridge for at least 12 hours or overnight. 5.Remove, and enjoy. You can top this with some cacao powder or top with crushed crackers or whatever you like! If you make it, be sure to let me know what you think on SHREDHAPPENS. And if you want more healthy recipes and high protein recipes, follow along. ENJOY! . . . . . . #highprotein #healthyrecipes #goodmoodfood #healthyfoodshare #whatsonmyplate

EASY high protein chicken salad that just works. This has lots of Mediterranean food flavors, plus 134g protein in total. Divide this into 3 super filling servings, to get 44g protein for just 370 calories. This combination is so delicious, so refreshing, with lots of Mediterranean flavors. I added a touch of pickle juice to the dressing for a flavor kick - it brings everything together, and it adds such a nice touch. I’ve lost over 150 eating high-protein, lowcarb meals like this. Scoop it with some lowcarb crackers, stuff it into lettuce cups, pile it into wraps, or if you’re not lowcarb some toasted sourdough & avocado. Here’s how I made it: 1️⃣ Add 3 cups pulled or diced cooked chicken to a salad bowl. Add 4-5oz of finely chopped arugula or baby kale, 3 finely diced Persian cucumbers, 3 finely diced celery stalks, 1/2 small diced red onion, 3 thinly sliced scallions, and lots of fresh mint (about 4-5 tbsp). 2️⃣ In a separate jar, mix 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2.5 tbsp mayo, 1.5 tsp Dijon mustard, 3 tbsp pickle juice, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper, and 1 tsp olive oil. Shake until smooth. Taste and adjust salt if needed. 3️⃣ Pour the dressing over the salad, then toss gentlym taste and adjust however way you want. 4️⃣ You can add some more fresh mint on top before serving, or some crushed up walnuts, pistachios or pine nuts. If you make it, be sure to let me know on SHREDHAPPENS 🔥 I share easy high protein recipes, lowcarb meals, and lots of Mediterranean food, so check it out! Plant Protein is as Good as Animal Protein for Building Muscle? New Study Breakdown! A new study just dropped demonstrating that a plent blend was as good as whey protein at building muscle over 12 weeks in untrained men undergoing a resistance training program. The headline may surprise some of you, but when I read the full study, I was not surprised at all… why? Because the plant blend was matched to whey in leucine and total EAAs. When you equalize the actual anabolic signals, the gap closes — which is exactly what my PhD thesis showed nearly 20 years ago. Study details (PMID: 41059835) • Randomized, controlled trial in untrained men • Whey vs. plant blend (pea + soy + added leucine) • 12-week supervised resistance-training program • Outcomes: quadriceps cross-sectional area (ultrasound), DEXA, lower-body strength • Result: Both groups improved significantly, with no between-group differences in hypertrophy or strength. This is in line with my PhD research which demonstrated that wheat (a poor protein for stimulating muscle protein synthesis) was as good as whey at stimulating MPS when leucine was added to wheat protein to match the leucine content of whey (PMID: 22818257) Important nuance: The plant blend used in this study is not commercially available, and appears that it was formulated + fortified to match whey’s leucine/EAA profile. That’s why it performed similarly, not because all plant proteins are inherently equivalent to whey for anabolism If your plant protein is low in leucine or EAAs… the results won’t look like this. That said, a plant protein sources can still be as anabolic as animal protein sources if their leucine/EAA content is high enough or if you consume enough protein overall

HIGH PROTEIN + HEALTHY 🥜🍫CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER LAVA CAKE You won’t believe this healthy dessert is high-protein with 50g protein, super lowcarb, and completely flourless! It makes two giant servings at 215 cals and 25g protein each and it’s SO good. Healthy desserts like this have been the game changer in keeping me on track during my 150lb weight loss journey - this is my fav one, and so good if you love chocolate and have a sweet tooth. Can you taste the cottage cheese? NO! Here is how I made it: Ingredients: 2 servings blended cottage cheese (about half a 16oz tub) 2 large eggs 3-4 tbsp powdered monkfruit (or sweetener of choice) 2.5-3 tbsp cacao powder (I use 3.5 tbsp for a richer taste) Splash of vanilla extract Optional: a sprinkle of chocolate chips Optional: Powdered Peanut butter and 1 tbsp crushed peanuts for the frosting 1️⃣ Process or blend 8oz cottage cheese in a small food processor until smooth and transfer to an oven-safe dish. 2️⃣ Crack in the eggs 3️⃣ Add the cacao powder (adjust for desired darkness). I like richer so I add more, but do what works for you. 4️⃣ Add 3-4 tbsp powdered monkfruit or preferred sweetener. 5️⃣ Add a splash of vanilla extract & mix thoroughly with a fork till no clumps. 6️⃣ Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, if desired, and add 1 to 2 tsp peanut butter inside. For the lower calorie peanut butter frosting mix 1-2 tbsp powdered peanut butter with 1-2 tbsp water or almond milk and 1 tsp powdered monkfruit. I promise, it’s just as good! 7️⃣ Pop it into the oven and bake at 350°F for 32 minutes. 8️⃣ Remove, let cool for 2 minutes, then top with the lower calorie pb drizzle, some crushed peanuts, and enjoy! 🥒HIGH PROTEIN MEDITERRANEAN CUCUMBER SALAD This is super fresh, crunchy, creamy, packed with protein, and one of those easy meals you can throw together in under 15 minutes and feel really good after eating. It’s light but filling, loaded with texture, and gives serious Mediterranean food vibes without needing a ton of ingredients. Makes 2 huge servings. This is such a great healthy easy lunch or light high protein dinner. Here is how I made it: 1.Start by browning 12oz of lean ground beef (I used 90/10) in a pan over medium heat. Season it with 1 tbsp oregano, 1 tbsp sweet paprika, 1 tbsp onion powder, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, and generous salt and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. I go a little longer here at the end on medium-high heat at the end for about 5-7 mins to almost crisp up the beef. 2.While that’s going. slice 5-6 Persian cucumbers and add them to a large bowl or 2 jars with 1/4 finely diced red onion and 1 small cubed avocado. Add the cooked ground beef on top. with 3 tbsp thick greek yogurt, 2-3 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley and mint, a couple squeezes of fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp crumbled feta, 1 tsp red chili flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper. 4.Toss everything together really well, and enjoy immediately. This is one of those easy healthy meals that’s light, high protein, but also refreshing and helps you feel good after! If you make it, let me know on SHREDHAPPENS!
