It’s incredible to me how you so confidently proclaim to be a reputable economist when you simply won’t address the fact that the amount of money raised from this is negligible compared to our deficit spend. Our debt is climbing so rapidly every single year that we are quite evidently going to have a sovereign debt default either in real terms or nominally (through inflation) at some point in the not too distant future. I am no fan of growing extreme wealth inequality (like any rational person) but it is being caused by the state and the central bank and your solutions are iatrogenic. Your ideological proposals are completely wedded to the system that are causing these problems. As a soon to be Economics graduate it is a real shame to me that we are pushed this slop at universities and online.

Gary flags real inequality, but voting Green this week is economic insanity. Their wealth tax sounds fair until capital flees (France’s version drove rich & jobs abroad). Anti-nuclear policy repeats Germany’s energy disaster, higher bills, slower net zero. Open borders + heavy regulation would hammer growth, housing & services. We need policies that grow the pie, not shrink it for everyone.
