While I’m a Calvinist, I can still laugh at the caricatures people create about Calvinism. But let’s clear something up: Calvinism doesn’t deny free will—it clarifies its limits. As David says in Psalm 16:2, “I have no good apart from You.” Our free will, apart from God, always leads to sin and destruction (Romans 3:10-12). Before salvation, Scripture describes us as spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1), blind (2 Corinthians 4:4), and deaf (Mark 4:12). We’re powerless to give ourselves life. It is God who gives us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts of flesh instead of stone (Ezekiel 36:26). Salvation is entirely a work of God’s sovereign will (John 6:44, Romans 9:16), and every good thing, including our faith, comes from Him (Acts 15:8-9; Philippians 1:29). So while this is funny, it’s important to understand that Calvinism doesn’t deny free will; it just affirms that our will is bound by sin until God sets us free. “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36).

First time doing the Swiss bar bench press in many years. Starting on the lighter side and will be gradually adding more weight over the coming weeks and months. Rebuilding my shoulder and getting it as functional as possible has been one of the greatest challenges I’ve ever faced, but I’ve never stopped. It’s been 10 years, and I continue to get better, stronger, and more capable. I have no regrets. I’ve avoided a shoulder replacement, I’ve avoided surgeries, and most importantly, I’ve refused to give up on myself. To anyone out there who has given up on themselves, I genuinely hope you find the strength to pick yourself back up and keep going. Progress doesn’t always happen quickly, but it does happen for those who refuse to quit. And that’s the last bite. Feed Me More!

NEWS UPDATE BAKHMUT/ARTEMOVSK LATE AFTERNOON MAY 20 Bakmut has fallen. Ukrainian forces in the SW corner of the city and near the city in the fields has retreated. Mopping up operations will continue until May 25th. But it seems Bakhmut is fully in Wagner/russian hands now. There are more rumours about other progress for the russian side, as for example the capture of Khromove as well, but such rumours tend to run wild when big things happen, so until otherwise proven I will discard those rumours. Wagner forces and many prorussians are or will celebrate today. They got their special date, May 20th, now known as the liberation day, of Mariupol and Bakhmut. Ukrainian authorities and many proukrainians will probably deny the fall of Bakhmut a couple of days at least. When Soledar fell it took two weeks until ukrainian authorities conceded defeat. I will write a little more detailed update in a while and both talk about what happened during the battle, it's consequences and future possibilities. Last but not least I must express my respect to all those fine warriors from both sides who has fought hard and bravely during the battle of Bakhmut. And also ask everybody to give some thoughts to the tens of thousands of soldiers who have been killed, maimed or wounded during the battle.

Give us more money & missiles and we'll win — Russia isn't even facing a real energy crisis (unlike us, who have no gas, oil or power grid left). 6. Universities and High Schools have not moved rapidly enough to guide students to have skills for the next decade. THEY HAVE FAILED. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. Let that sink in. — You and I are far, far ahead of knowing this and we can do two things: 1) Laugh at the “clueless” 2) Help people understand with grace Go to Reddit if you are 1, in fact don’t follow me because you will not like this next decade and what I post. You are 2 and thank you. Even if you and I have not solved this issue, we can help people understand what is ahead and with determination and creativity bound together to solve it locally. Or human family has done this millions of times. The evidence is: you are here. The Neo Luddite movement has not even begun and it will potentially rip apart society even more than all the fashionable moment in the recent past has. These Luddites will have a good point with the wrong answers cooked up by dying academics that cling to labels, “virtues” and victim hood. It will be readymade for some governments to enter in as “big daddy” to “help us”. You will not like what they do, but you will only know when it is too late. It will include YOU “volunteering” to “leave” by 60, to “help out” CanadaPod style. “Brian, I’m 24 what do I do?”. I hope to do much more here to help. But I do know this: 1) Learn a trade or vocation because it’s valuable. It may also be free to low cost if you do it right. 2) Learn everything you can about USING AI and TRAINING YOUR AI. Your expertise will be in the top 1% for a decade. But not forever. 3) Understand Bitcoin and how it will rise while other things sink. This is a short list for now. We will know more moving forward. When you see videos like this posted below, know one thing: Many of these folks had no real family of mental and physical support. Maybe no parent or one parent. Maybe only a broke system to prepare them for—nothing. This was not their doing. Now it is not your “job” to help them, it is your survival to help them if that is what you need. See some day after the dust settles these 20 year olds will be 40 year olds and running YOUR world. And at some point you may need them more than you think you do. You will need them, as they need you now. THIS IS WHAT PAST WISDOM KNEW. The elders of the past never found the need to piss on the youth and hope for the best. THE YOUTH ARE OUR BEST, let us all find ways to change it, even if every aspect of “the system” wants us to berate them into the ground.

Today is a wonderful day at LAW! 😍 Berani has finally left the clinic and is joining her new family at our Celuk Buluh shelter 😁🥰 We'll keep her separate for a week or two to let her settle in and get used to her new surroundings, gradually introducing her to a couple of the other dogs. She's very friendly with humans, but very nervous around other dogs at the moment. The guy who alerted us to her has let us down very badly 😞 He said he would like to adopt her when she was better and would fundraise to help us pay for the veterinary care. Now he's changed his mind about adopting her and hasn't raised a penny 😢 We're determined Berani will have a good home with us and be well taken care of, regardless! ❤ We never put them back out on the streets to fend for themselves. In 2 weeks she'll be sterilised too. One of our goals is to try to get the numbers of unwanted puppies down, so every dog under our care goes through the procedure to battle those numbers. Veterinary care is very costly, even with charity status discount, it drains the funds drastically 😩 Please help us to get the best care possible for our lovely rescues.
