Whoever made the call to delete this scene needs to be fired

These were my favorite scenes because it sheds truth on Petunia and Dudley. Petunia hated Harry for what happened to her sister. She envied her sister, but loved her nonetheless. Dudley had a front row seat of what Harry was dealing with, and realized he was wrong about him. Great scenes

Dudley realizing Harry saved his life while his parents stayed clueless was top-tier character development. Total shame it got cut

They spent five movies turning Dudley into a punchline, then cut the only scene that made him human.

Whoever decided to cut that scene definitely made the wrong call. Some scenes are too good to leave on the editing room floor.

Completely out of character for Petunia. The scene should never have been filmed.

I liked how patronizing Harry was. To use the insult his Uncle used on him to confirm why he couldn't go with them. Then he didn't refer to him as "Uncle" he referred to him as Vernon. Goes to show how Harry feels about him. At least Dudley tries to mend the relationship.

She lost her sister decades ago when she went to Hogwarts and petunia held a grudge for not being magical herself. Petunia hated her sister and never treated Harry like a human being. Screw her. Dudley’s scene should have been kept.

It's said that that handshake changed Harry and Dudley's relationship forever. Every year on Christmas, Harry and Dudley instead of exchanging post cards, would sit together and watch both of their kids play, silently sitting without saying a word to each other.

Probably someone who presumed the audience didn't care for the Dudleys and leaving them without any shred of remorse would have been in better taste. I'm not one of them. Even an ounce of humanity in antagonists is more preferable to me than irredeemable monsters.
