Nah. Property management can always improve capacity, but that doesn’t give people a free pass to treat the dumpster like a landfill and pile bags five feet high until the truck has no choice but to spill trash everywhere.

Driver empties the dumpster that's his job. Overflow bags on the ground? That's on management for not providing enough capacity or pickups.

Shared blame. Residents overfill it, management won’t add pickups, driver just follows the contract.

Simple, call for an early pickup. Then what is on the ground would have room in the dumpster.

@S8bzm I was a groundskeeper for an apartment complex. I will just say everyone’s wrong except the driver. The owner, the tenants, and people who random dump, no one thinks about the groundspeople having to deal with that shit daily.

What makes you think either did anything 'wrong'? That type of truck only picks up containers. Driver did no wrong. Many apt buildings, in my experience, have a junk spot like that and arrange a separate pick up for that stuff (or periodically they dump it all in a newly emptied container. So probably the people who dumped there did nothing wrong.

@S8bzm Commercial waste drivers are not allowed to pick up side trash. It is the properties responsibility to add a larger can or an additional can if needed. This is on the property not the driver.

It’s not the garbage truck drivers responsibility to get out of the truck and pick up all that garbage. Front loaders are literally just picking up the dumpster and emptying. That’s their job.

@S8bzm Drivers are instructed that it is NOT their job to pick-up blocked dumpsters, or trash from the ground. Properties have PM's. They have employees to do that or they call Two-Men and a Truck to clean it up. If they do not...the mess gets larger and larger.

People try it on, if the driver were to put all that garbage into the empty dumpster to empty it a 2nd time, they'd take that as a green light to dump even more garbage on the path next time. Someone will have to throw that suff into the dumpster now for the next pick up.
