Whose mum had a twin tub washing machine?
10 Yorum

Never mind mother I had one I gave it away to an old lady in the end. Not too long ago Dr s loved it ( I was working at the time he did the washing. Whites were very white.

Less of the mum, I had one in the eighties, I could look out of the window to the busy high street below whilst listening to the radio, did some of my best day dreaming, better than just switching it and watching the TV,no phone to distract me,fond days.

My mum did. When the twin tub was in the spin cycle it would shake so violently that it would move across the kitchen like it was possessed.😱🤣

It also had a metal lid to stop the soapy water from being thrown all over the floor. Not sure why it's not being used here!

I was that Mum - and they washed better than automatics too...

My Aunt Mary had one like this but it was much older, very slow, tangled up all the clothes, made a shocking racket and would "walk" across the kitchen!

I even made her a pair of tongs in woodwork to help

Had one, and I used it I know how to use a twin tub That used to be my Saturday morning

God I’m old. Our first washing machine was a top loader with electric mangle. Had to rinse clothes in sink then use separate spinner that jumped all over the place

Used 1, the spinners were amazing, the clothes would come out dryer than modern washing machines. They're missing the metal lid but it's posher than my nans, you had to put a bowl under neath to drain it ( washed floor at same time)
