Glare in your eyes can hurt your vision and ruin your dining experience but having the blinds adjusted to thwart said glare shouldn’t destroy your dining experience unless your a person who nags a lot, commonly known as a nagger.

A simple request to keep them open just enough for your children to be able to see outside would have been a way to resolve the situation for both of you. You staying silent about it and then going on social media to complain is another form of entitlement

This woman clearly give off the I’m the victim vibe, and you can tell she really wanted to play the race card. I spent 10 years in the restaurant business. We used to close the shade for customers all the time. This is only an issue because that back woman is racist.

I think she’s overreacting. If the waitress knew she got that specific seat, she should’ve given her the courtesy of asking first. The elderly woman was entitled for asking, just blinded. To me it’s more bad waitressing not communicating the situation to both & find a resolution.

My brother is legally blind. He eyes can’t handle bright lights like normal people. So i would’ve closed it myself for my brother. I don’t care if you asked for the windows or not. You can’t be this selfish to think you can control the window blinds when sitting there. That’s not how this works.

The woman who was seated by the window with her kids should have called the waitress over and politely advised her that she heard the woman’s request but since she and her family were enjoying their dining experience with the blinds up under no circumstances lower the blinds and if it’s a problem for the other woman suggest she move and immediately ask for her manager.

The server should have moved the other family to another table so they were away from the sunlight. It’s rude to just come up and shut the blinds on people who have been sitting there, UNLESS everyone is complaining. But if it’s just one group, move that group away from the windows. It’s not that hard.
