Thank you. These things are not useful. Hooking a tape and running it minimizea error over distance. If you lay out a stud wrong, the next isn't necessarily affected if you're using a tape, but this crap would telegraph the issue across the wall.

Someone looking for speed and ease doesn’t screw their studs to the plate. 🤦‍♂️

A precut 2x4 in between each will accomplish the same thing.

Only turds use anything but a proper layout stick🤣🤣

🤦‍♂️It's not hard and this compounds errors. We learned better about 6000 yrs ago.

If you need this, please don't build anything bigger than a dog house.🤨

Cumulative errors they add up. Guarantee you you do that 10 times @ 16” you won’t be on 160 inches.

Why over pay for plastic when a piece of wood cut to length would work just as good.

Because they understand how to use a tape measure?

That thing will never work with Home Depot's twisted, warped and bent 2x4's.

Bad system! First mark the top and bottom plate at 16" intervals. Start at one end (same end top or bottom) and mark off 16" at each position, 16, 32, 48 etc. Example: 21 studs, if out by 1/16". your wall is out by 1-1/4". Think!

This is one of those tools that makes you wonder why we still default to the tape for every single stud. Drop it, mark, flip, repeat wall is laid out in a fraction of the time with zero walking back and forth. Perfect for solo work or when you’re teaching someone. Clean demo ❤️.

find thickness of studs using and subtracting it by 16" (or 24" o.c) and cut a piece of lumber w/ the resulting measure and use it as template. done fast.

Probably can't count and a tape is too hard to master...since when do framers use screws?

Good luck getting the twisted ends of HD lumber in and out of that contraption.

That method of measuring makes tolerances cumulative, and the tolerances will also be exaggerated further when the timber is a loose fit in the jig.

good idea! but how many of these do you have to do to make the contraption cost effective? Also if I'm a woodworker, this is my line of work, wouldn't I just make one? head over to Home Deport, get the parts, have them cut the metal, then weld them together?
