Had a homeless guy in Chicago ask me for money for food as I was walking out of Giordano’s. So I gave him half a deep dish pizza and he turned around and threw it in the trash. He said he was tired of pizza I wanted to ring his neck but just yelled at him “Then stop standing in front of the fucking pizza place and go to the Chinese restaurant down the street you fucking idiot”

@Alphafox78 I can attest. I TRIED to volunteer at a homeless lunch. Didn't last. Those F-ers will curse at you, even try to attack you for working for them and being kind to them. WORSE than feral dogs. NO sense at all. They need to be CAGED!

@Alphafox78 About 6 months after Covid started we went down to Newark with cases of water and cases of sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s. It was so hard to give it away. Almost all of them complained and wanted something else and almost ALL were mad we wouldn’t just give them money.

do not feed this person. When someone spits on and throws food to the ground, that others would enjoy, it is NOT Christian charity to continue giving pearls to a swine. There was a time, many years ago, that I would have given thanks for the slightest morsel of food. I know that at times we may all struggle, but to act like a beast to those trying to help: there is NO EXCUSE.

These people are not mentally there. They're homeless because they are too mentally ill to function in society and keep a job and a home of some sort. Whether that's drug induced or natural. We help them because that's what we're called to do even if they're ungrateful and do things like this that make zero rational sense.

Even though there’s always going to be a bad apple in the bunch, changing our behavior to cater to the rare exception is counterproductive. If we stop helping because of how a few people react, then maybe we weren’t helping out of true compassion—we were doing it to feed our own ego.
