Humanoid robots because then we don’t need to adjust the world for each robot and rather humanoid robot will fit perfectly in already existing world. For example: we don’t need to redo buildings, the stairways, the cars or other vehicles, cups, plates, utensils, mop, other dishes, etc etc. just one robot with human like movements will fit and work everywhere.

@BretWeinstein This is wrong. The world of humans is in large degree built for human use. Therefore making robots that most generally fit that format makes basic sense. Making robots in formats for ideal for specific tasks will lessen their general application ability.

Brett is making a lot of shallow arguments about why make robots in humanoid fashion. He starts saying that other forms of life I guess are better than humans but he completely overlooked that humans can build pyramids and make computers and do a whole lot of other things that no other life forms on earth can do. Furthermore, it’s obvious that making humanoid shaped robots is a good design decision. The human body is pretty darn good at a great many things. Out of respect for Brett I’ll listen to the rest of his little spiel there.

I agree but I do think there is another reason (even though I’m anti-trans humanist) Bc the world is made for humans and our form. A human form robot can easily drive our cars, use our tools, operate our tractors, navigate our living and work spaces. Just saying - there is a reason that doesn’t mean they ought to do it! But I would not mind a robot maid/ butler/ assistant… if I was sure it wouldn’t turn on me & kill me lol.
