"WhY aRen'T maRriAGes LasTiNg?" If men SPECIFICALLY would have conversations like this with their grandmothers, they would find out that a lot of them were trapped. Imagine having to marry a man who called you ugly, nappy headed, and denied your child. This made me sad. Part 1

Part 2. I see treating teen mothers horribly is nothing new. Calling your grandchild a bastard is so ugly.

Reminds me of my great grandma, rest her soul. She was one of the prettiest, dark skinned ladies I’ve ever met. She was so kind to me but not only did everyone else call her ugly, her mama and daddy did too. She was born in 1926. I miss her pretty self so much. 🤎

@maracharese This makes me think of my Grandma (Ibae) below who was called ugly frequently growing up. She often talked about the disgusting names she was called in school and as a young adult. Imagine thinking this gorgeous being (inside and out) is ugly ??? Madness!

Doing the research trying to find my dad’s dad. I’m starting to realize ratchet is not a new invention. Molesting, rape, domestic violence etc. them rose colored glasses people use when talking about “back in the day” need to be cleaned with the truth.

This is my paternal grandma’s story through and through. When I learned my grandpa was actually her lifelong abuser, it changed everything for me.

Yeah, my grandma was 'happy' after my grandpa died. Women be getting relief when some of their husbands die.

my aunt Susie was born in 1908, she was the oldest of 17.. her mother was 13 & her father was 28. On her birth certificate it says Negro. She married ONE time, never had children. Her husband died in the 70s. She lived happily ever after till she was 104.
