Bangalore adds 6 km of metro per year. On a visit to Mumbai, truly impressed with the metro. Wider trains on std gauge, faster pick up, huge concourse. It started later than blr, but is bigger now, including underground. Mumbai is much denser, mind you.

Jafar and officials, we undertook a trial run today and reviewed the progress ahead of its opening.

The Pink Line Metro is finally nearing its opening. This will be a big relief for Bengaluru’s commuters. Along with BDA Minister Shri Krishna Byre Gowda and MLA Shri Krishnappa, I inspected the Pink Line from Jayadeva to Kalena Agrahara and all the stations. CMRS has assured the pending safety clearances will be completed in 1-2 weeks, followed by rolling stock approval. I’ll personally follow up with the Central Government, Minister & Railway Board Chairman to ensure all approvals are secured at the earliest. Good initiatives by the government will have our 100% support. But stupid and unscientific projects like Tunnel Road will be strongly opposed. Bengaluru needs solutions, not politics. Together let’s build a better Bengaluru. ನಮ್ಮ ಮೆಟ್ರೋ
