"Why bother? I'm probably too stupid to understand anyway, right?" Has so much weight that reflects Goofy's history, the times hes been with Mickey & Donald, his "How To" shorts His anger is justified in this film cause Max is rude & belittles his father throughout the trip-

-when really his whole goal with this vacation was to spend time with Max, because he knows his son is growing up but also felt the need to take on the responsibility to be a better influence. It gives so much depth to a happy silly dog, Goofy is the best Disney character

Unrelated but I find it so funny that what sets him off is the words, “Walt Disney”.

That part cracks me up, ngl

It just shows how much he's been through and how much he's been put down and taken for granted by the people in his life. It's just so sad and relatable at the same time.

💯 It's why I personally associate with Goofy so much

Not to mention Goofys reaction to the fact that Max changed the Map. He felt used and an idiot. Just look at his face man.

And even then, despite the trip being ruined, and his own son lying to him, he doesn't explode. He just stops the car and goes to the cliff to cool off. What a guy.

A line that's almost of equal wieght for is Max's "See ? You break everything." The resentment is crazy, really makes you think about what it is to be Goofy, what the life of a slapstick character can be like.

We understand why goofy is doing the the trip and everything. But he also didn't listen to Max and ignored how he felt in regards to him already having plans and dismissed that he never went to a party when he was younger. Both are at fault for different reasons

can we also call out the Principle, speaking lies like Max was out here throwing up gang signs and shit. If he was honest about what had happened, I bet Goofy would've talked to Max about it more bluntly and the trip would've been them bonding about Goofy's past and stuff.

Absolutely
