Why can’t the government stop all the infrastructure developments and first make sure every Kenyan has the basic needs? Actually, we should invest three-quarters of our budget in clean water, food production, education, and health. It is so sad seeing fellow Kenyans struggling just to get safe drinking water.

Provision of clean drinking water is not just a project, it is a fundamental right of every citizen. Under the Punjab Saaf Pani Initiative, we are rapidly expanding our network of water filtration, surface water treatment and bottling plants to ensure that every household even in the most remote areas has access to safe, hygienic water. In remote areas where water is not available, bottled water will be delivered to doorsteps. No city or village will be left behind. InshAllah!

The team at CareForGaza delivered an amazing performance in their first phase of providing clean drinking water to the displaced families on a large scale. Access to the basic human right to clean drinking water is not even safe as the survivors are being rained down with bombs and the water filtration system and other sanitation facilities are being destroyed. We would like to extend our gratitude to the donors who are helping us provide for the people in these challenging circumstances.

This was the harsh reality of UP under the Samajwadi Party government in 2014. At Hardi Dali School, Maharajganj, 213 students had no drinking water. Children were forced to go into the village for water, while the unfenced school grounds were used as cattle sheds. From neglect to clean water, modern infrastructure & dignity for every child, CM Yogi Adityanath’s Operation Kayakalp has transformed basic education in UP.

He dug a pit in the ground, lined it with a plastic sheet, filled it with all the water to make a swimming pool, and then took a bath in it. After that, the entire 6,000 liters of water was wasted. Many parts of India are already facing a severe water shortage. Many people don't even have access to clean drinking water, and in some places, people have to walk 10 km every day just to collect drinking water. Posting these videos fill us with rage and frustration. You would think that the bare minimum that Palestinians would get after three years in genocide is food and water but even that is not secured. The Sameer Project never planned to pause. Never wanted to pause. But sadly here we are. Please help now: We reduced our water distributions from 430,000 liters down to 185,000 liters. This is in August, the hottest month of the year. All we need is $15 for every 1,000 liters and we can do a MILLION liters daily. We can scale up. We have the team. We have the processes. We are part of the WASH cluster. We just need the funds. Half of England and the whole of Wales are now in drought. Farmers are harvesting early, crops are under pressure, and livestock producers are already feeding animals with supplies meant for winter. Yet successive governments have treated food and water security as somebody else’s problem. Bad trade deals have exposed British farmers to unfair competition while globalisation has made the country increasingly dependent on fragile overseas supply chains. At the same time, our water has been left in the hands of private monopolies that extract profit, neglect infrastructure and expect the public to carry the cost. Now data centres, housing developments and industry are placing even greater demands on supplies, often without the transparency or regulation the public deserves. Water security is food security, and food security is national security. Government should be supporting British farmers at scale, protecting productive land, rebuilding reservoirs and water infrastructure, regulating major industrial users and taking our water system back from profiteers into full public ownership. If a government will not protect the soil beneath our feet and the water in our taps, it has abandoned the most basic duty of statecraft. It is not a modern economy. It is an unprotected vulnerability. #supportourfarmers
