Well social media

Digital ads and social media in general displaced the street teams. It's a less personal approach, but it's more cost effective and can put their artist on the radars of fans in more cities. Labels are businesses; they're usually going to do whatever saves them money.

That’s why u come with vans and cars. @IronVestEnt @RICHLABELRECORD 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆. Pasadena. California

Why don’t you & other music executives start your own record companies (not labels) & get back to signing highly talented BLACK AMERICAN (FREEDMEN) artists (non degenerate/ratchet)? We want very talented RnB, Soul & Rap artists. No more whore & thug music. Our real music‼️

I stopped because people were ripping my flyers and posters off of every telephone pole and community bulletin, they stayed for a few days sometimes some weeks, served they purpose and was gone...nothing lasts forever, then we entered the digital age, and devices become the poles and bulletins...

I had so many friend in HS who was part of record label street teams! Bad boy ,def jam ,loud rec! Early 2k when hiphop was perfect ahh the good old days you would see ppl posting up poster giving small flyers for upcoming albums . Shit clubs even had street teams back then

I do it just not with a major, doing it on an independent budget. In that same breathe take a listen to my latest single SOLACE Today. Let’s Go

You know who didn’t stop tho, the underground artists in the streets.

The digital age and social media. Why spend the money on people and material when the artist themselves can post about the album drop and reach millions. It's a no-brainer. The only thing is artists got caught up in the hype and thought if I talk about it the day of, the album willl sell. In other words, lazy marketing. Beyonce could do it cause she has a loyal fanbase and reached a certain level. Not all artist can do that. Artist need to stop jerking off and use their platform with a healthy lead time before the album drops. You know who did that recently? LL Cool J. Yall artists out there! Stop being lazy! Execute a real marketing strategy!

@LowKeyUHTN Lmao the guy with the label asking this question is hilarious
