Why do cheap swords break so easily?

Dont forget that most decorative swords are made with 304 stainless because it resists corrosion, but also has lower strength, they tend to shatter in a bind. Swords meant for use will be closer to a 5160 spring steel or 1050 carbon steel, much stronger but they need oiled.
