Why do happily married women gatekeep their marriages?

I don’t know if it’s considered “gatekeeping”… But my wife and I “move in silence”. Too many jealous friends and family and we don’t wanna deal with that!

Wife & I worked at the same place but different shifts for 3 and a half years and only 2 people knew, my boss of the first 6 months and her cousin who worked there. The only people who need to know your business are people who NEED to know. The less outsiders know, the better.

Some people are bad-minded and don't have anything else better to do than gossip. Bad-minded people like that are the type to get married and use it as a status symbol to signal success or achievements or something. I like couples who mind their business and are just good kind people.

I have learnt to not share my personal life on SM for strangers who probably don’t like that you have what they don’t have or want. Some people are weird and unhappy seeing others happy. In the words of my idolo Davido, na your mama go knack the wrong person. Not my problem 😂.
