Gunn was a master with Guardians and Suicide Squad. But he seems to have lost his mojo when they handed him the keys to the DC universe. He tried to make Superman appear less wooden, more human and vulnerable. Instead he washed him out and made him *too* human, weak and unserious. Much like Waititi did with Thor. Dumbed him down, Homer Simpsonized him. Maybe by design as we can’t have any more Nolan Bruce Waynes or Mangold Logans running around inspiring men to courage and self-possession.
