why do i never know what to say after someone drops me off

Once thanked a shop assistant in Italian when I was in Spain, so I obviously had to get the next flight home.

Only one note from the drivers seat if I may - you forgot to close the car door with the force of 17 elephants hitting it.

I was in the Co-op last week and said to the lad behind the counter "Thar"...instead of Thanks or tar!

Now try all that and then get out of the car forgetting you've still got your seatbelt on, and you've approximated me.

I still remember my mum jumping into someone else’s car that looked like mine. I watched her get in but couldn’t stop laughing so let it play out. She never told me what was said.

Oh that’s perfect. I have a nervous tick every time my Samsung washing machine finishes and now I won’t be able to get out of a car. @MrMichaelSpicer is ruining my life and I’m laughing while he’s doing it.

I always get awkward in bike shops with bike techs whose knowledge is 1000 x mine. I once went in looking for mudguards and asked for “stabilisers”. I could hear them laughing after I left two miles away. Never went back 😕

Today I spent 15 minutes talking to my friend as she parked outside my house. We had been chatting for 3 hours in the cafe. Its like when I ring my sister and then spend another 20 minutes saying goodbye when we already had. Is this a @SoVeryBritish ?
