Why do monsters wait for the Megazord to transform?

It’s called honor. Even in street fights ya gotta let your opp set his feet before you box.

What the monsters see of the Megazord transformation is happening instantaneously. We’re able to see it, but to them, it’s a split second transformation. At least, that’s how it works in my head canon. Alternatively, evil is dumb.

My theory is that morphs and zord sequences are actually instant we just see them in a different plain or something

Transformation sequences can’t be interrupted. Those are the rules.

Pretty sure it happens much faster than we see on screen

Because the longish transformation time is for the audience’s benefit, and in real time the transformation happens in seconds.

Same reasons why monsters sit around and wait for the rangers to morph the morph sequences have gotten so cringe to the point I can't even watch their seasons

They’re making sure the kids at home are watching, so they can get the zords via toys

The original zord combining sequence is self explanatory. The zords are running around to combine, the monsters can’t catch up. But since they combine initially into tank mode the rangers shoot at the monster making them back off and flinch, so they to Megazord undisturbed.

A missed comedic opportunity… The monster rolls up its sleeve looks at a watch…
