Why do parents think this is ok?

“Mom puts me number one and I put her number one” What’s wrong with that?

The nucleus of the family starts with mom and dad. They are #1 to each other, they set the example… very simple. When the building’s foundation is strong, it’s very hard for it to crumble.

I think the phrasing is a little off but the point is to make it clear that disrespecting either parent is not acceptable or tolerated

It is a vital, critical, important principle, and he’s 1000% right. Husband & wife are the absolute foundation of a family; they must put each other first in order to be their best for the kids. Get married- maybe you will grow up.

What's wrong with it? Both of my children at the appropriate age when they disrespected her got the "NO ONE SPEAKS TO MY WIFE THAT WAY!" talk from me. Only had to happen once.
