@SENBreakfast It’s not just us. I challenge you to name one Victorian club, whose home games are supposed to be at the ‘G, that enjoys playing at that bloody soulless concrete shoebox.

@SENBreakfast I think context is important here, we don’t play big teams at Marvel, so it’s never going to be comparable to the crowd sizes we get at the G. This narrative is a little exaggerated and overblown IMO

@SENBreakfast It’s simple really. It’s not the MCG or surrounding precinct. .Marvel is not our home. We have zero connection to Marvel. We feel very connected to our home in 3121 and the experience it offers us fans.

@SENBreakfast It's a concrete monstrosity, with poor sight lines (in places you have to stand up to see the action if it's below you); the 'big' screens are too small; and not forgetting the canyon-like wind tunnel approaches and rain swept access to and from Southern Cross Station. Horrible.

@SENBreakfast I buck the trend here, whilst I love the MCG I don’t mind the docklands stadium. Many forget pre Marvel you had to play 2-3 games at the icy 🥶 cold vfl park. Train to Glen Waverley - bus to ground or park in the damp VFL car park and wait 40min to exit. That was a crap venue

@SENBreakfast Marvel Stadium is excellent. I have no idea the beef some people have with it. Almost every seat has a good view of the game. It's handy for 90% of country travellers. Awesome medallion club. It's always dry. I don't get it. I'm glad Carlton play games there honestly.

@SENBreakfast 1. soulless & lacking atmosphere - it's like watching inside a giant garden shed 2. roof being closed even on dry sunny afternoons (see 1) 3. too hot due to 2 in autumn (eg Blues v Dogs rd 3) 4. surface (it's never been right) 5. cold wind blowing through the doors at each end

@SENBreakfast I used to love going there and went every time we played there for the first 10-15 years. Outside had wide open spaces and easy to access from train station. Over time, the over development outside the ground is now a funnel and a crush of people when entering and exiting. 👎

@SENBreakfast It's a hole, I can think of maybe 2 RFC games there over the years that had a good atmosphere.
