This is the Basketball Rondo passing drill. We have this in the activities library. (Download more games like this here➡️ This is a great game for passing under pressure. Four players are in a small space, like you see in the video, with three defenders. The defense has to get a steal in order to go on offense. The offense has to make 10 passes in a row to win the game. Coaches can change the space the players operate in, adjust the number of players in the game, and even combine their principles of play into it. For example, you could apply “zero-second decisions,” where players must pass immediately upon catching it, or it’s a turnover.

Game Speed Layups With The Kentucky Drill Layups can make or break a game. The problem is that in practice sometimes players don’t go full speed when doing their layups. This drill from The Buzz Half Court Trapping Defense from coach Kevin Furtado fixes that. The goal is 27 layups in one minute. All passes must be on target on time as the player sprints the full length of the floor to make their lay up. -Players are in charge of organizing the drills -Always start with a high energy drill when beginning practice -This is an opportunity to chart effort given by players when running sprints -1 and 2 start with the ball at the top of the key

Basketball is played WITH the basketball 5% of the time. One of my favorites quotes from Billy Donovan is: ‘The other 95% of the time most players spend trying to get the basketball’. Players also can’t conceptualize the amount of time they have the ball in their hands in a game. They think it’s exponentially more than it actually is. The ball is glorified, and rightfully so, but what are we doing with the other 95%? Do be ELITE REQUIRES impacting the game without the basketball. I've seen a lot of comments about this so I'll address it here. I will talk about it more in detail in tomorrows YT video. Context: Deciding 3rd game of a #NHL24WC qualifier playoff series. I enter the zone with 4 minutes to go in game which is a bit over minute in real time. I know Lauri Enström is playing protect net collapsing like he has the whole series. Like I always do in tournament games with this little time on the clock I start circling and killing time, seeing if Sopuli overcommits or something opens up, like I always do at the end of tournament games when I'm leading. Around a minute left in game I get full pressure on and at this stage I know the game is basically over cause Sopuli can't change his players to be more aggressive mid cycle and your players are dead during full pressure (and it lasts 30 seconds in real time). What makes this clip stand out is the 5-1 in front of his net with 30 or so seconds remaining 😅 But again why would I need to try to score here explaining everything I just did? I would just give Sopuli a free change to tie the game. With full pressure added I personally play with aggressive own zone strategies just to avoid stuff like this in 24, of course you can still try to rag the pressure on with how the AI is but it's way harder at least. I'm not saying it's nice or fun or whatever, and I totally get if people don't like it, but I would do the same thing every single time in an important tournament game.
