Hey DrDemetre instead of giving newborns hepatitis B shots, why not just test the mothers to see if they even have hepatitis B? It’s a simple blood test for hepatitis B. If the mother doesn’t have it, why would the newborn need the vaccine? I’ll wait for an answer.

If you, as a mother, don't have hepatitis B, then why does your baby, on the day of their birth, need the hepatitis B vaccine? There is no logical reason to give a newborn baby the hepatitis B vaccine on the day of their birth if the mother tests negative.
