Totally an utterly side stepped the blurry aspects of the old Testament. The real answer is that there were still defendants of the Fallen around. @cardinalrlburke That question has an old name attached to it. Marcion decided around the year 144 that the God of the Hebrew scriptures was a different being, and cut his own canon down to one gospel and ten letters. The church answering him is part of why a fixed list exists.

But why not go the step before that, Adam to Abraham (2000 years), 1- snake already in the garden (from the heavenly war), nephlims via angels that rebelled on Gen 6, and Nimrod and babel by Gen 10. God spends the Old Testament going after and fighting all of these gods that rebelled against him (psalm 82). He stars in Egypt against Ra, (all 10 plagues were aimed at a specific god). God is whipping out the contaminated dna from earth from the nephlims, so Israel was at constant war against these giants. Every win God would command them to wipe out everything, including animals. God also judged Israel in the Old Testament a ton. So He never changed. He’s Just. There was justice served to these rebellious beings, but even to His own people. But besides just, He is full of mercy and grace, thus sending Jesus here to be the sacrifice for us instead of us paying the full price via death. The prodigal son is the example of who the Father is.

A PERFECT PARENT LOVES HIS KIDS SO MUCH- He gives consequences for rebellion, and bad choices. The people in the Ild Testament days were doing much of the same demonic dark things we see happening today, sadly. God’s own people were so rebellious and wishy washy.. to me they are such a picture of all of us Gentiles(and Jews) who go our own ways do our own rebellious things - keep getting “spankings” from the Lord. Many never choose to repent and return to the Lord BUT MANY OF US DO !!! Then, ALL the BLESSINGS & Gifts (both spiritual and physical) He has always had waiting for us are being poured out not because Of our “goodness” the Bible says “no one is good no not one .” But, because of HIS GOODNESS AND MERCY!!
